Not Wanting to Say Anything About Marcel was Cage's first graphic artwork and was created in response to the death of the artist's friend and mentor Marcel Duchamp.
Lot is comprised of Plexigrams I, Plexigram II, Plexigram III, and Plexigram IV. Signed and numbered to base of each example 'Cal Sumsion John Cage I 49/125, 'Cal Sumsion John Cage II 95/125', 'Cal Sumsion John Cage III 84/125' and 'Cal Sumsion John Cage IV AP IV/XVIII’. Signed with transfer printed mark to base 'IH Hollander Workshop, Incorporated'. These works are artist’s proof number 4 of 18 and numbers 49, 84 and 95 from the edition 125 printed by Hollander Workshop, Inc., New York and published by Eye Editions, Cincinnati. Sold with original packaging and three brochures.
