Beauford Delaney, Beauford Delaney: A Retrospective
The present work arrives from the Estate of Molly Turner, who was an Emmy Award-winning news reporter in Florida. Turner became the state's first female anchorwoman in 1960, after beginning her career in 1951 at South Florida’s first TV station, WTVJ. Turner worked with WPLG-Channel 10 from 1969 to 1988, a period in which she became the station's first consumer affairs reporter and received three Emmy Awards for her investigative reporting. As the Miami Herald reported, a former employee of WPLG once observed of Turner, “She had style and grace, but you would do well not to misconstrue that, because she was hard-nosed and driving in her job—she just did it with a touch of class.” Turner passed away in 2016 at the age of 93.
