The present lot is a rare and desirable, woven 18k yellow gold link bracelet from the esteemed Georges L’Enfant, a skilled jewelry designer and manufacturer, who worked for top houses like Van Cleef & Arpels, Cartier, René Bovin, and Bulgari. He also created pieces for the Place Vendôme and Rue de la Paix. Sometime around 1900, L’Enfant established his own workshop and registered his maker’s mark in 1909. L’Enfant’s craftsmen produced a wide range of jewelry, from bold bracelets to elegant diamond rings. His son Jacques joined the business in 1915, continuing his father’s legacy. In 1927, L’Enfant acquired Sandoz, creating striking Art Moderne pieces. After World War II, he acquired Verger Frères, known for Art Deco jewelry. The 1950s saw collaborations with Vacheron Constantin and continued partnerships with Cartier and Van Cleef & Arpels. In the 1960s and 1970s, L’Enfant’s workshop specialized in finely crafted gold chain bracelets and necklaces, known for their intricate designs and high quality.
