Make What You Really Love

In this rare, vintage footage we are treated to a behind-the-scenes look at Ken Ferguson's Wyoming studio as the artist, and self-described "humble country potter," illustrates his skill at the wheel while musing on his work and the nature of being a ceramist and educator.

I enjoy the versatility of clay. For this reason I work with functional and nonfunctional forms: stoneware, salt firing, raku, porcelain, and low temperature, thrown forms and hand-building, and cast ware. I reflect the fine arts, traditional crafts, and a need to make things. I try to be honest with myself and honest with clay.
