On July 20th, Wright proudly presents Italian Glass, the first auction in a new series exploring the depth and breadth of artistic glass produced on the island of Murano in the 19th and 20th centuries. This first edition features more than 100 lots from the Collection of Carl Bellavia and includes works by Salviati, Soffiato vessels by Vittorio Zecchin and Carlo Scarpa, and an array of works from the 1930s. The auction also features designs by Ercole Barovier, Tomaso Buzzi, Paolo Venini, Fulvio Bianconi, Dino Martens, and Archimede Seguso along with wonderful examples from lesser-known designers and companies.

As with our Important Italian Glass auction series that has led the market for over a decade, this auction has been reviewed by experts Jim Oliveira and Sara Blumberg. With many lots starting below $1,000, Italian Glass offers an excellent opportunity for new and seasoned collectors alike.

Following Italian Glass on July 20th, Wright will present Venini Lighting: Post-War Works from a Private New York Collection. This offering of post-war Venini lighting is perfectly timed on the heels of the exhibition Venini Lighting at the Stanze del Vetro in Venice. Featured in the sale are designs by Massimo Vignelli, Fulvio Bianconi, Paolo Venini, and Toni Zuccheri among others. This dynamic collection of colorful and complex hanging shades and table lamps is the largest to appear in a single auction and represents an essential piece of Murano glass history.
