Spinneybeck baseballs were first launched in the 1980s as a promotional item for Spinneybeck, a leading provider of high-quality leather to architects and interior designers. Dreamed up by then-marketing director John Young, the balls were given out at NeoCon, Westweek, and other North American design shows. Many of the color ways of the balls were designed by San Francisco designer Laura Guido-Clark, who went on to found the non-profit Project Color Corps in 2011 and established the color system Love Good Color in 2017.
