Henning Koppel's Pitcher 992

Designed in 1952 by Henning Koppel, the Georg Jensen Pitcher 992, otherwise known as the "Pregnant Duck," has become a beloved icon of modern design. Handcrafted from sterling silver, the vessel is sculptural and sumptuous and while its sweeping lines exude an elegant, organic simplicity, it is anything but simple to make. Rendered in miniature as a keychain, this lot pays homage to Koppel's brilliance and serves as a portable reminder of the value of good design.

Silver is the best material we have. And silver has this wonderful shine like moonlight [...] a light taken straight from a Danish summer's night. When covered by dew, silver can look like magical mist.
