These chairs were designed for Island Records, a division of the Island Trading Company in New York. Walz received the Interiors Award for Best Office Design for this project in 1992.

The same year Walz received the Interiors award, Island Record's artist The Orb's debut album U.F.Orb reached number one on the dance charts.
