Throughout his long career, architect, historian and writer Thomas A. Heinz has authored over twenty publications and countless articles about Frank Lloyd Wright, solidifying him as the leading expert on the visionary architect—deemed by the American Institute of Architects as the “greatest American architect of all time.” Beyond the vast scope of Wright’s architectural achievements, Heinz devoted particular attention to the study of his furniture and interiors, and in the 1970s, began creating his own reproductions of Wright’s groundbreaking designs. Using the original drawings and plans, Heinz’s constructions are identical reproductions of the originals, crafted in painstakingly precise detail—1/16th of an inch to be exact. Initially produced by his own company, Heinz & Co., the line was eventually manufactured in the late 1990s by the Grand Rapids company, Bexley Heath Ltd. The works offered here include examples from both production runs and come from Heinz’s personal collection, offering a unique opportunity to own Wright’s masterful designs reproduced by his most faithful scholar.
