These early works were created for VITRA EDITION, an annual project launched in 1987 aimed at freeing designers from market constraints to create innovative and enigmatic designs. Introduced as part of the 1991 series, Morrison’s Ply chairs and Ply dining table were produced in very limited numbers (likely only three sets total) and intended as exhibition pieces. From the VITRA EDITION, the Ply chair went into full production, however the table was never made available outside of the limited run. This particular set was shown in the Orgatec trade show in 1992 and later acquired by the former Vitra employee.
