Giuseppe Barovier is considered by many to be the most innovative and accomplished glassblower of the 19th and early 20th centuries. Among his many accomplishments was the development of blown murrine glass (Mosaico), which he first mastered at the Salviati furnace in the 1870s. Blown murrine glass would go on to become a ubiquitous and invaluable technique for glassblowers the world over.
