This dining table was custom made by Gio Ponti and manufactured by Cassina for a private residence in Florence one year after the introduction of the Superleggera chair in 1957. The table top approximates the footprint of the Pirelli tower in Milan while the legs echo the angularity of the Superleggera frame. The set represents a rare embodiment of the weightless aesthetic first developed by Ponti with his legendary Superleggera chair.
Sold with certificate of expertise from the Gio Ponti Archives.
