The fabric on this form was designed by Finnish textile designer, Vuokko Eskolin-Nurmesniemi. Vuokko was married to the designer of the present lot, Antti Nurmesniemi who was affectionately known as the 'Grand Old Man of Finnish Design'. Best known for her work for Marimekko, Vuokko's signature Jokapoika shirt helped make the company a household name. The stripes on the present chair are clearly reflective of her bold, graphic prints.
