The Swiss master goldsmith and jeweler, Othmar Zschaler was born in 1930 and has continuously created studio jewelry. His abstract designs created in his Bern workshop, now reside all over the world in both private collections and museums, such as The Museum of Fine Arts Houston and Schmuckmuseum in Pforzheim. In 1984, his book Der Goldscmied (The Goldsmith) was published. This brooch is very representative of his gold working style.
