This example was hand-painted by the Philadelphia artist R. Michael Wommack for Knoll’s first public exhibition at their New York showroom in 1984. The design was derived from a pattern by the Italian designer Paola Navone who was inspired by television static. Ultimately, the pattern was not used in production, and the series was available in neutral tones and the iconic Grandmother pattern only.
