In 1936 while working as a consultant for the Isokon company, Walter Gropius modified the original design by tightening the corners of the seat and cut-out sides. He would later use both versions in the Isobar restaurant and club at the Lawn Road Flats (Isokon Building) which opened in 1937. This rare and early example remains true to the original design.
This example features two removable trays and can be used as a stool or table. Branded manufacturer's mark to underside of each tray ‘Venesta’.
