When I started taking a situation from the floor and put it on the wall, I looked at it metaphorically, as things that are in your head. It’s as if you’re lying down in bed and you close your eyes and try to visualize that room you were just in: that was there, this was here, this was there. And then at the same time as you’re visualizing, you remember the process of somebody writing down an abbreviation which becomes an abstract language in itself. But most people are outside of that language. In the piece it’s objective, but it’s become something abstract, possibly an unrelated intrusion. Thoughts intrude upon other thoughts.
