The ultra-modern Hotel Okura was built in 1962 for the 1964 Tokyo Olympics and hosted presidents, celebrities, politicians and even James Bond in You Only Live Twice. Hotel Okura was torn down in 2015 to make way for a contemporary skyscraper hotel.
Set includes four ashtrays, one bottle opener and the book The Indigenous Patterns and Hotel Okura, published by Dai Nippon Printing Co. in 1964. Impressed manufacturer's mark to underside of each example ‘Hotel Okura’.
