This drawing is after François Boucher's painting L'Odalisque blonde (1751), a portrait of Marie-Louise O'Murphy, a young Irish girl who modelled for Boucher at The Academy of Painting in Paris. This painting was sold to a member of the French royal court and King Louis XV, upon seeing it, invited Marie-Louise to become his petite maîtresse.
