Newson pushed the limits of both form and material with this bentwood chair design. Created in the studio, this early handmade example exhibits quality craftsmanship with a machine-like precision. The Tasmanian pine used for this example would be replaced with ash and the seat back became further reclined when Cappellini started production of the design four years later in 1992.
