The present lot is 1:6 scale reproduction of the smallest exhibition space, The Wrong Gallery which was located in the center of New York’s contemporary art world in Chelsea at 516 A ½ West 20th Street from 2002-2005. A parody of modern-day exhibition spaces, The Wrong Gallery measured two-and-a-half square meters and featured programming conceptualized by Maurizio Cattelan, Ali Subotnick and Massimiliano Gioni and exhibition with works by Lawrence Weiner, Elizabeth Peyton, Paul McCarthy, among others. This work by Cattelan is a replica of The Wrong Gallery that has since reopened, even smaller at only one square meter, within the Tate Modern.

It's a space where there was no space. It's just a door.
