Inlaid logo to headstock ‘Gibson’. Printed to headstock ‘Les Paul Model’. Engraved to truss rod cover ‘Standard’. Stamped to reverse of headstock ‘509049 Made in U.S.A.’. Stamped to tuners ‘Gibson Deluxe’. Stamped internally to pot '1377438'. This example was dated using the pot code and serial number. Guitar features tobacco sunburst finish. Sold with original hardshell case.

The Les Paul, the first solid body guitar to be produced by Gibson, was first introduced in 1952 but it wasn’t until a decade later that they would become popular. Jimmy Page is credited with bringing initial attention to the Les Paul Gibson and since the 1960s many of the best rockers have played a Les Paul making it one of the most popular guitars in the world.
