This design first debuted at the 1956 Copenhagan Cabinetmaker's Guild Exhibition, which ran annually from 1927 to 1966, highlighting the best in Danish furniture. Architects Aksel Bender Madsen and Ejner Larsen presented a conference room with teak furniture, produced by L. Pontoppidan, that included a table with an expressive grained top, a rolltop bar and these elegant, high-minded leather armchairs.
Madsen and Larsen have designed a most noble group of conference furniture...It is a pleasant and attractive interior which is well-made and appropriately expensive. An interior which is certain to match the pinstriped authority of the members of the board.
