Balthazar Korab specialized in architectural photography and after he immigrated to the United States in 1955, Eero Saarinen hired him to document his buildings and design process.This photograph depicts what Loja Saarinen dubbed the "cozy corner" of her and her husband Eliel Saarinen's home in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, where Eliel designed many of Cranbrook Academy's buildings and Loja founded its textile department.
