This work was created at the opening of Requiem at the PinchuckArtCenter in Kiev. A comprehensive retrospective featuring 100 works spanning 1990-2008, the artist commemorated the event by installing four “Spin Painting Machines” in the complex center. During the first two days of the exhibition, visitors were invited to create their own works of art using the machine. Hirst and several studio assistants were on hand to help, and the completed works were stamped with the event details and a place for the visitor to sign their name.
