During the 1930s, Philadelphia born artist John Ebstel worked as a photographer for the Works Progress Administration. He later moved to New York in the mid-1940s where he taught the basic technique course at the Photo League, eventually becoming the exclusive photographer for all of Louis Kahn’s architectural commissions.
