This unique prototype table was designed by George Nelson and features a 1.5 inch thick Brazilian Rosewood top made from lumber Nelson selected on a trip to Brasilia and meeting with Oscar Niemeyer. It never went into production due to the high cost of materials, but was utilized as a conference table in the George Nelson & Company office for many years. Eventually given to one of the designers, it served as a dining table for the past forty-five years.
