Because of their large size and fragility, very few examples of the decorative plaster frieze from the 13th floor banquet hall of the Schille Theater building (later Garrick Theater) were salvaged when the building was demolished in 1961. Bare lightbulbs were once installed into the face of this frieze, which was originally hand-painted in five colors.
