This maquette is likely an early study created by the American Bridge Company as they developed the engineering for the famous Richard J. Daley Center sculpture, commonly referred to by Chicagoans as The Picasso. A slightly smaller maquette resides in permanent collection of the Art Institute of Chicago and was given to the museum by the artist himself.
