These salt and pepper shakers coordinate with the Diamond tea and coffee service later designed by John Prip and the Diamond silverware designed by Gio Ponti for Reed & Barton. These early prototypes, one featuring the Pearson stamp in addition to Prip's own, point to Prip's collaboration with Ronald Pearson for Shop One, a gallery they founded along with Frans Wildenhain and Tage Frid for handmade objects.
Incised signature to underside of one example: [Prip]. Impressed signature and artist's cipher to underside of other example: [Prip Sterling Prip Pearson].
