This work relates to a series of sculptures that Nauman created between 1988 and 1989, including Untitled (Three Large Animals), in the collection of Tate Britain and Untitled (Three Part Large Animals), in the collection of the Museum of Modern Art, New York. Several sculptures from this series were on view at Nauman's Texas Gallery exhibition in 1989.
