Sculptor, Carl Paul Jennewein is renowned for his architectural sculpture which includes illustrious projects such as the polychrome pediment of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, two panels inside the White House in Washington D.C. and gilded relief sculpture at the Brooklyn Public Library. The gilded relief for the Brooklyn library wraps around two columns flanking the 50-foot portico making the entry the library’s most distinguished feature. The present lot is comprised of two plaster models featuring scenes of the evolution of art and science created by Jennewein for this commission.
