Ivan da Silva Bruhns
The prolific Ivan da Silva Bruhns passed on a career in medicine for one in the arts, specializing in textiles and specifically in carpet design. Well-known for his Art Deco designs, da Silva Bruhns’ carpets were used in interiors by notable designers such as Emile-Jacques Ruhlmann and Jules Leleu. Da Silva Bruhns also made carpets for many French embassies around the world, the United Nations headquarters in Geneva and various ocean liners.
