Nicolò Barovier

Beginning in 1919, Nicolò Barovier, along with his brother Ercole, began work on a bold series of Mosaico vessels for the newly founded Artistica Barovier Company. In a departure from the work of his father and uncle, Nicolò’s designs would feature strong geometric patterning and highly abstracted floral motifs in an Expressionist, or even Fauvist sensibility. This Mosaico vase designed by Nicolò is an extremely rare and fine example of his work.
