Saarinen Swanson Family oral histories trace the design of this lamp to Eliel Saarinen for Walter Von Nessen’s studio. While it is documented that Saarinen modified the design of twelve of these lamps for use in the Kingswood School Cranbrook dining hall, documentation concerning the original un-modified design has not been located.
