Gino Sarfatti founded Arteluce in 1939 and for more than thirty years, Sarfatti introduced and produced new lighting designs for the modern market. Through experimentation with new materials and technologies, Sarfatti created an extensive oeuvre composed of more than 400 cutting-edge designs that are notable for their innovation and form. During his career, Sarfatti and Arteluce received many prestigious awards including the Compasso d’Oro (1955) and the Grand Prix at the X Triennale in Milan (1954).
