An Icon of Fontana Arte

The Dalia

This early Dalia chandelier features rich amber glass petals. Made of crystal and brass, the first of these forms were made in 1953 and are attributed to Giuseppe Raimondi, a designer at Fontana Arte. Under the artistic direction of Max Ingrand, Fontana Arte produced the popular Dalia in various forms for a number of years. One variation of this form was exhibited at the 10th Triennale in Milan in 1954; other variants include a version with petals gathered on a calyx (1954) and a double version with two rows of petals (1958).
