Cinema Mediolanum



Lodovico Barbiano di Belgiojoso, Gianluigi Banfi, Enrico Peressutti and Ernesto Nathan Rogers lent their last names to form the acryonom: BBPR. Founded in 1932, BBPR's breadth of work spanned from architecture to urban planning to functional design.

The chandelier was installed in the Cinema Mediolanum, located on the Corso Vittorio Emanuele in Milan. The dynamic, spiraling chandeliers were visible to passersby through the clearstory windows of the theater entrance and became hallmark forms associated with the Cinema Mediolanum. This work is one of four examples.
