In 1967, Giancarlo Montebello and Teresa Pomodoro opened a goldsmith’s shop that exclusively worked with artists. Montabello later founded GEM, to produce limited edition artist jewels. César, Sonia Delaunay, Piero Dorazio, Lucio Fontana, Hans Richter, Larry Rivers and Niki de Saint Phalle are a few of the artists with whom he worked. This necklace is unique. Sold with original gilt, fitted case. Incised signature and date to reverse of one element: [Del Pezzo 69]. Signed with impressed manufacturer's mark to reverse of one element: [K1 18 GM 702 M].
