The Albatros chair is a variation of the Crate chair series differentiated by its angled seat and back. Only eighteen examples of this form were produced, all utilized in the six vacation homes Rietveld designed for the 'Albatros' Superphosfaatfabriek and De Vries Robbe Company in Hessenheem, Markelo. Only one of these homes survives in the Openluchtmuseum in Arnhem.
