In 1979 this example was reupholstered in Jack Lenor Larson fabric chosen by Pipsan Saarinen Swanson. Loja Saarinen with present lot in her home, c. 1965.
This prototype exhibits several differences distinguishing it from production models. The external frame of this example has a single continuous weld joining the two elements, hardware attaching directly through the frame and more severe angles to the legs. Additionally, the profile of this form displays a more generous curve along the backrest.
