This chair represents the first fully formed fiberglass chair by Charles Eames. A smooth seating surface and rough, hand-laid fibers on the underside are indicative of the earliest production process. Welded ball feet on the handmade Eiffel Tower base predate the rubber glides utilized in typical production models.
