Louis Durot has been creating biomorphic functional works of art since the 1960s. Durot credits experiments in clay from the riverbanks near his childhood home and a set of building blocks as the inspiration for his continued interest in organic forms. Whether working in steel or with plastics, his investigations into materiality and form inspire him to create contours that seem both corporeal and alien.
