The following six lots are from Krueck & Sexton Architect's 1987 commission Untitled No. 1, a condominium unit in a notable Chicago skyscraper. The owner was an enthusiastic client who encouraged and allowed the architects a great degree of freedom. Upon completion of the interior, Krueck & Sexton had a difficult time deciding on appropriate furnishings so the client suggested that the team design furniture specifically for the space. Thus, Krueck & Sexton's furniture was born.
The following lots are the originals, and the interior of Untitled No. 1 the original inspiration, for Krueck & Sexton furniture designs. Organic forms and geometric angles are combined in a delicate balance, reflecting both the natural and urbane. The machined, yet handcrafted, materials exemplify the unique contemporary style that defines Krueck& Sexton's work.
Untitled No. I is illustrated and discussed in the book Krueck & Sexton: Architects by Franz Schulze on pages 64 through 75; the pieces have been in this residence since the date of their commission.
