Wingate Paine spurned his blue-blood legacy and tradition to pursue a photographic vision of daring nudes in highly charged surroundings. His images push the edge of censorship, but he empowers, instead of exploits, the models by allowing their personae to permeate his medium undiluted. Paine strikes a rare and delicate balance between classicism and eroticism - between what has always been and what is going on right in front of you, at this moment.
