From the 'Spirithouses' series of 1986 which illustrates Animist religious beliefs that attribute spirits to objects. In the case of trees and wood, they believe that a special quality existed in the wood that grew in proximity to the river. The present lot floats just above the floor, imbuing the physical piece with a sense of this river spirit.
