The image for this tapestry was created from a Kenneth Noland painting entitled "Bell," painted in 1959. Gloria T. Ross produced hand-made artist-designed tapestries for Frankenthaler, Stella, and Motherwell among others. Ross received permission from Noland to produce six tapestries utilizing "Bell" image. Of the few produced, only one other example is currently accounted for. One example of this tapestry was included in a Ross exhibit at the Richard Feigen Gallery, Chicago in 1971. This tapestry has been authenticated by Dr. Ann Hedlund at the Gloria F. Ross Center for Tapestry Studies.
