Raised in Chicago and educated at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Chamberlain has had retrospectives at the Guggenheim in New York (1971) and the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles (1986). The scrap metal assemblages reflect an Abstract Expressionist spirit in three-dimensional form. This work was created for and named after one of Chamberlain's dealers, Xavier Fourcade.
