As a prizewinner of the Museum of Modern Art Lighting Competition of 1951, the Gage table lamp was produced by Heifetz and was first retailed at Bloomingdale's, New York. This pair of lamps was acquired at Bloomingdale's by the original owner in 1952 and has remained in that collection since.
