An early example of construction that dates to the late 1940s or early 1950s, the overall composition related to Bertoia's graphic work of the early 1940s. The sculpture pre-dates Bertoia's earliest notions on sound, movement and tonal quality that was to culminate in the Sonambient sculptures. This sculpture will be included in the forthcoming catalog raisonne.
